Writtle is represented by Conservative Councillors on both the Essex County Council and the Chelmsford Borough Council. There is one Essex County Councillor, John Aldridge and two Borough Councillors, Tim Roper and Tony Sach. John was re-elected in June 2010 and the next Borough Council election will be in 2011.
